Patterns with Personality

As our social interaction has been limited, people are turning to their homes as an outlet for creative expression and personalization. There is less timidity around going bold in color and pattern as a trend toward maximalism is quickly gaining popularity. A great way to incorporate this in your home is through upholstery and art, but another interesting option for those who would like to try this trend on for size is removable wallpaper. Consider creating an accent wall in your home office space to really showcase your personality during videoconferences.

The Lighter Side

You can embrace this trend whether you're boho chic or love the modern farmhouse vibe as lighter woods will work with any style. This color wood is not only airy and uplifting, but as an added bonus, it gives the feeling of an expanded space.

Grandmillenial

What is Grandmillennial? This trend blends current design with styles you might see in your grandparents' home (i.e. Victorian-era furniture, busy patterns and lots of crochet.) Because this design style hinges on antiques, it's a fantastic way to sustainably furnish your home with affordable long-lasting pieces.

The New Black

In light of all the stress and uncertainty of 2020, we are in a much greater need of our own personal refuge and relaxing space. Blues and blue-greens are perfect color choices to help foster a soothing environment and calm the mind—which understandably makes this trend more attractive than ever. Our top color pick? Benjamin Moore's 2021 Color of the Year Aegean Teal.

Nature Made

There was a strong interest in natural and organic materials over the past year, and this trend isn't going anywhere in 2021. Natural materials such as rattan, cane webbing, ceramic and leather will continue to create depth and texture as we seek to create a connection with nature inside the home.
